January 9-13th

Week #1

Dear Parents,

Happy New Year!!

It has been a great start to the new year here in kindergarten. The kids are great! We have been talking about class rules and making good choices.

If possible, could you please send in a picture of the family pet to be used on a class bulletin board.  In the event you do not have a pet, maybe your child could cut out or draw a picture of a pet they might like.Thanks.

Should you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

I am sending home a Weekly Newsletter every Monday, which will explain our entire week of school.  You will be receiving a Newletter at the beginning of each week.  It will include our curriculum, reminders/notices, our weekly poem, and homework.  You will find the Newsletter in your child's folder on the right-hand side.

We hope you have a great week!

Love,

Mrs. Carpenter

Mrs. Benton

-"Snappy words" are our sight words.  Please make sure your child reviews all their SNAPPY WORDS each night!!  Flashcards are a great idea!!

-We will be practicing writing their names (first name for now) and writing their numbers (1-10).  Also, practicing naming the letters of the alphbet (both upper and lower case).

-Please write your child's name in all clothing (gym sweatshirts, sweaters, fall/winter jackets...).

-Parents, please make sure an adult sits with your child when doing his/her homework.  It is very important for the children to learn how to form letters, numbers, and shapes, the correct way.  Also, make sure a pencil is used for homework, unless color is needed.  Thanks!
