April News

Happy Spring and soon to be Easter! The Kindergarten class is working really hard throughout these last couple of weeks, as we head towards the end of the year. We have so much to look forward to as we watch spring come to life around us.

We will continue to practice addition and subtraction in Math. “Kid Writing” is progressing very well, and we will be starting “Doodle Writing,” a new series, in which the children are excited to begin! We are using 1st grade level reader books, and the students’ reading ability continues to improve daily.

Please review decoder books at home. I also have some additional K-1st grade level books that I can send home with your child if interested. Please be sure to return these though as they are school property.

We are very excited about our upcoming Easter Egg Hunt, and the study of embryology. Our hunt will be on 4/16 at 9:00.

Please have your child write their first and last name on their home assignments. We will be doing the same in class.

*** BTW*** Children are to wear winter gym uniform till May 10th!!!

Also, children can bring a water bottle for gym on Tuesdays!

100 Days Smarter!!!

100th day.jpg

February News

Dear Parents,

The month of February brings lots of activity to the Kindergarten class. In Reading, we will continue to learn consonant sounds and short vowel sounds. In Math, we will celebrate day 100, begin to recognize and write number’s to 30 and introduce the concept of place value. We will learn about Valentine’s Day, Abraham Lincoln, and George Washington. With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, we will exchange Valentine’s Day cards with one another. If anyone needs a class list, just email me or send in a note.

During this month of ‘Caring and Sharing’ take some time to develop positive problem solving skills with your child. Children need to understand the consequences of their actions and how their actions affect others. Model positive problem solving for your child. Use positive words in your household to resolve conflict.

We do continue to go outside for recess whenever the weather allows. Children need to bring their mittens, hats, etc. on these cold and snowy days. If your child is having trouble zipping and/or buttoning their coat, please continue to practice at home.

Feb 1st- 1st Friday Mass/ 9:30

Feb 8th- 100th day celebration

                                                               Feb 14th- Valentine’s Brunch/ sock drive ends

Feb 15th & 18th- NO SCHOOL

                                                                Have a FABULOUS February!
